I'm writing this blog at exactly 1:29am on Tuesday morning to reflect on my day.

I am currently working on a project for the City of Mississauga. I have the privilege of taking pictures and videos of my hometown and help create an interactive art installation.

After cancelling, our original shoot due to bad weather we settled on Monday, March 28th, because the weather was supposed to be good. We're in a nice transition from winter to spring, but today was definitely a winter day. Snow and ice on the ground, freezing negative-degree weather, everything you expect from the inconsistent (all over the place weather) in Canada.

As my hands were freezing, I had a weird realization. I love and appreciate being a Canadian filmmaker. When the glamourization is gone and its you and your cold hands with you camera, you are creating art with a sacrifice from your heart that is a beautiful form of love.

We have no palm trees and wind blowing in our hair, but we have beanies and fluffy jackets. We work through the winter and no matter the weather we create.

Even when our art doesn't make us enough money to survive yet, we have day jobs that we suffer through to continue creating and adding life to the world the best way we know how.
